جهاز إنتل ريدر
أطلقت شركة إنتل العالمية والمشهورة بتطوير معالجات الحواسيب القياسية وأجزاء أخرى للحواسيب جهاز أطلقت عليه إسم قارئ إنتل أو إنتل ريدر. الجهاز موجه نحو المكفوفين والمبصرين جزئيا وفئة ذوي صعوبات النطق. الجهاز متوفر باللغة الإنجليزية وسوف يتوفر بلغات غربية أخرى.
يستطيع المستخدم أن يلتقط صورة لأي وثيقة إنجليزية وبعد حوالي 30 ثانية يبدأ الجهاز بقرائة الوثيقة بصوت آلي. ويحتوي الجهاز على شاشة عرض للنصوص ويستطيع المستخدم تكبير النص الذي يتم تكبيره وتصغيره حسب إحتياجات المبصرين جزئيا بالإضافة إلى قراءة النص بالصوت الآلي. وتوفر الشركة حامل أو ذراع يتم طويه في حقيبة صغيرة وذلك لتسهيل عملية مسح الوثائق.
ولقد تم إبرام إتفاق لتوزيع الجهاز مع شركة هيومن وير النيوزلندية الكندية والتي هي حليفة لشركة الناطق. وسعر الجهاز هو حوالي 1500 دولار بالإضافة إلى أجور الشحن.
ومن المتوقع أن يهتم بهذا الجهاز شريحة من المكفوفين والذين هم متمكنون من اللغة الإنجليزية. أما التعريب إلى اللغة العربية فلا نراه ممكنا في المستقبل القريب نظرا لعدم توفر تقنيات مسح النصوص العربية الفعالة لتحويلها إلى معلومات رقمية تستطيع آلات النطق قرائتها.
