أطلقت مدونة العقد السامي والتي يشرف عليها السيد:/ سامي الزهراني مسابقة تنتهي بمنح برنامج تولكس (إصدار الشرائح). يأتي ذلك في إطار رفع الوعي عن مشاركات المتميزين من المكفوفين في بناء مجتمع المعلومات عبر المدونات الهادفة. ومن المتوقع أن تطلق بعض المدونات الأخرى مسابقات أخرى.

يتم التعاون مع معاهد البسام في المملكة العربية السعودية لتدريب كفيفات على برنامج الهال. وتستمر الدورة لمدة إسبوع حيث يتم التركيز فيها على المستجدات التقنية في الإصدار العاشر من برنامج الهال.
في إطار الخطة الإستراتيجية التي تنتهجها جمعية العوق البصري ببريدة والرامية إلى توفير التقنيات التعويضية للمكفوفين في المملكةالعربية السعودية وقعت الناطق للتكنولوجيا عقدا مع الجمعية لتوريد 74 برنامج هال لتنصيبها على 74
أطلقت جمعية العوق البصري ببريدة تقريرا بأسماء 30 متدربا جديدا على برنامج الهال والذين سوف يتلقون تدريبا شاملا على البرنامج إبتداء من يوم السبت الموافق15 نوفمبر 2008. وأسماء المتدربين هي كالتالي:
في تعاون ملحوظ بين جمعية العوق البصري ببريدة ونادي الحاسب الآلي للمكفوفين بالرياض، بدأت دورة تدريبية على برنامج الهال يستفيد منها 11 كفيف وذلك بالتعلم على النفاذ بالهال إلى نظم المعلومات الحديثة.
ترغب جمعية العوق البصري الخيرية ببريدة إقامة مسابقة تحفيظ القرآن الكريم على مستوى المملكة للمعاقين بصرياً
وسوف تكون المسابقة على :-
- حفظ القرآن الكريم كاملاً
- حفظ عشرون جزءً
- حفظ عشرة أجزاء
تلقت الناطق صباح اليوم نبأ تأجيل ملتقى الكفيف الرابع في أبوظبي ومعرض التقنيات المصاحب له وذلك بسبب الحادث المؤسف الذي أودى بحياة الشيخ ناصر بن زايد النهيان.
